The transfer of the group's business to a Company Limited by Guarantee was authorised at an Extraordinary General Meeting of members in March 2007 and a new consitution adopted, following agreement by the Charity Commission to our application to become a Registered Charity (No. 1119150). Transfer of the membership and business of the former voluntary group to the new charitable entity was completed in June 2007. The Trustees of the new charitable entity have appointed a Management Committee to manage the day to day business of the group and a further Sub-Group has been established to advise on technical matters. The current Trustees, officers and advisers to the group are shown below.

Born in Maidenhead and very familiar with the geography, geology and hydrology of the Thames Valley, through his involvement in gravel extraction via the family firm.
Professor Ed Gallagher, CBE - A former Chief Executive of the Environment Agency and also the National River Authority, Ed brings vast experience to the group and provides national level strategic advice. Professor Gallagher is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water Environment Management and received his CBE for services to the environment in 2001.
Paul Wagstaffe, MBE - Vice President of the Inland Waterways Association, Chairman of the Inland Navigation Committee for the Royal Yachting Association, a Member of Thames Regional Fisheries, Ecology and Recreation Advisory Committee of the Environment Agency and Secretary of the Thames Boating Traders Association.
