Trustees and Officers of Maidenhead Waterways Restoration Group

are sad to announce the death on 1st May 2008 of one of their founder members,

Colin David Simmons.

Colin was a Trustee and Committee member of the Group, having been involved since its formation early in 2006.

Quiet and unassuming, Colin worked for the charity in so many ways. He could always be found with his sleeves rolled up at barbeques, he arranged our use for so many and varied functions at Maidenhead Sailing Club where he was a past Commodore, and Colin was always one of the first to volunteer for whatever the project.

As a Management Consultant specialising in group decision processes Colin's forté was "thinking outside the box" and identifying "the bigger picture" especially in relation to organisation and strategy. He had the ability to come up with the thought, idea or comment that nobody else had, and in that way to challenge us and widen our horizons. He will be sorely missed by us all.

Our thoughts are with Colin's wife, daughters, and family at this time.
